Solving word problems: RUCSAC

When we are solving maths word problems we use RUCSAC to help us. RUCSAC reminds us of each step to follow to solve tricky word problems. :)

READ the problem
UNDERSTAND (and UNDERLINE any important words...see link below)
CHOOSE do you have to add, subtract, multiply or divide?
SOLVE write and solve the sum/sums
ANSWER get your answer
CHECK back over the problem and your sum
