Wonderful Work for our Final Week!

Well done everyone on your amazing work this week and over the past few months. I'm so proud of the effort and hard work you have all put in- maith sibh!

Middle Room Activities 22-26 June


As we come to our final week of homeschool I want to say a huge thank you and well done to everyone for the hard work and creativity you have shown over the past few weeks! :)

CREATIVE CHALLENGE
Art Recreations Challenge: See main blog for details! 🎨


PE
Remember to take regular movement breaks while working, outdoors if the weather is good, or indoors if not! 
-Do a Joe Wicks, Just Dance, or Go Noodle video
-Go for a walk or cycle
-Play sports or a game outside
-Do some yoga

ART:
Keep up the creativity! You could draw or paint something, create a collage, make something from clay or recycles materials, try some sewing, knitting or weaving, bake salt dough decorations, try some origami...let your imagination run wild! :) 
With all the great weather why not try some outdoor art in the sunshine: Rock painting, making pictures or mandalas with stones/leaves/twigs, make a birdhouse or bird feeder, create art with leaf rubbings, make a wind chime, build a bug hotel or plant a butterfly garden...🦋🐦🥀

WRITING: End of year write up: my memories of second/third class! 
Write about your time in second/third class. You could create a scrapbook or poster about your favourite memories of this year. You could include pictures/writing about: yourself (favourite subjects, happy memories, achievements), your friends, your teacher, a school trip, activities from during the year, goals for next year, etc. There are some templates below:

This week I have included an end of year assessment for each class. There is no pressure to complete the assessments in a certain time frame (you can do it over a few days if you want to!) and we will be doing lots of revision in September on topics that are still tricky, so don't worry. Just take your time try your best with each section! :) 
You can use games to practice tricky topics before attempting the assignment if you wish. There are also some fun maths trails below which might also be fun for revision! :) Links also below :)

Virtual Tours

At this time we would normally be heading off on our school tour, so, since we can't travel together, here is a list of virtual school tours that you can do at home this week! The tours include webcams, video links and self-guided tours, all online!

The tours are split into categories, and there are lots of choices within each category, so you can find one that you might enjoy!

You could even pack a picnic, to add to the school tour feel! :) 

Your tour categories are: 

  • Zoos, aquariums and awesome animals
  • History and art
  • Science and Technology
  • Travel the World

You can use surveys or activities and games to collect data for your graphs.
You should have a set number of answers or outcomes: 4-6 choices
Use tally marks to collect data, and then make a bar chart with your results!

  • Surveys: You could survey family members, friends, or even research online. Ideas for surveys: favourite food/colour/game/sport, hair/eye colour
  • Indoor activities: Roll a dice 50 times and tally how many times each number comes up, do a survey of your toys- how many board games/footballs/dolls/teddys/etc do you have?, survey a pack of smarties- how many of each colour sweet in the pack? Flip a coin 50 times and record what it lands on each time
  • Outdoor activities: Make a bar chart of- the colours of cars in your estate, the types of flowers/trees/birds in your garden
