Middle Room Activities 2-5 June

I hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the glorious sunshine! Why not try to take some of your reading or writing outdoors this week and relax in the sun? :) 

 Great work from lots of people on SplashMaths this week- well done! I've loved seeing your photos come in too, thanks for everyone who sent them on, lots of creativity coming in- well done! :) 
Below is some suggested work for this week, along with links on how to access online resources, and some links to offline work suggestions. Theres also a link for some fun scavenger hunts you might like to try! :)

CREATIVE CHALLENGE

Super Hero Art Challenge **Continued from last week: Details on main blog :) 


PE
Remember to take regular movement breaks while working, outdoors if the weather is good, or indoors if not! 
-Do a Joe Wicks, Just Dance, or Go Noodle video
-Go for a walk or cycle
-Play sports or a game outside
-Do some yoga

ART:
Keep up the creativity! You could draw or paint something, create a collage, make something from clay or recycles materials, try some sewing, knitting or weaving, bake salt dough decorations, try some origami...let your imagination run wild! :)

Spellwell: Week 32 activities, spelling test on Friday

WRITING: My Hero/A Person I Admire **Continued from last week! 
Write a story or report about your hero, or someone you admire. It could be a parent, grandparent, friend, sibling, someone you know, or even a character in a book, or someone famous! 
Include details about what makes them a hero to you- What are they like? What makes them special? Why do you look up to them? What are some of the good things they have said or done?  How have they helped or inspired you? :)
Don't forget, you can write or type your report, and include drawings or decorations if you like :)

Offline Activities:
  • Make pizza or cake: cut it into pieces and see what fraction everyone gets! 
  • Check out your favourite sports team: what fraction has blonde/brown/black hair? How many people is that?
  • Have a fractions scavenger hunt! Find the length of a stick, your lawn, a door, etc, then find half/quarter of the length of each

An Nuacht: Write news once in Irish during the week. -Make sure to take regular movement breaks. 
-Try using timers
-Use a variety of learning spaces: e.g. write at the kitchen table, work on your project on the floor, do some reading outdoors
-Choose a mix of computer based tasks, book work and worksheets, and games and activities
